Palantir Completes Fundraising

According to Tech Crunch, big data company Palantir has announced its completed $550 million dollars in funding.

Palantir, the sometimes controversial, but always secretive, big data and analytics provider that works with governments and other public and private organizations to power national security, health and a variety of other services, has reportedly been eyeing a public listing this autumn.

Arkansas University Receives Data Science Grant

According to the Sentinel Record, the Medical Sciences school at the University of Arkansas has received funds from the National Science Foundation to improve their data science department.

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences says it has received $1.9 million from the National Science Foundation to help the state establish a cyberinfrastructure platform that will improve on Arkansas' existing data science strengths and competitiveness.

Israeli Big Data Company Gains Funding

According to Globes, SQream the Israeli big data company has raised almost $40 million in funding.

Israeli big data analytics company SQream announced today that it has raised $39.4 million in a Series B+ financing round led by Mangrove Capital Partners and Schusterman Family Investments, who joined existing investors, including Hanaco Venture Capital, Sistema.vc, World Trade Center Ventures, Blumberg Capital, Silvertech Ventures and Alibaba Group. Alibaba led the company's last financing round in 2018 when it raised $26.4 million.
